Rj's Film Focus - Steven Spielberg

My favorite filmmaker of all time is Steven Spielberg. He's terrified us and made us feel things that simply aren't real but somehow he makes it all feel like its possible. Here is an amazing interview and look into the wonderful career of Spielberg hosted by James Lipton of the Inside the Actor's studio.

Rj's Film Focus - JJ Abrams

Filmmaker JJ Abrams short but amazing career has included Mission Impossible III,Star Trek,Super 8 and my favorite show Lost. He is a throwback to me a mix of Steven Spielberg and Alfred Hitchcock. Recently Abrams signed on to direct Star Trek II. Fan boys all over the world are also hoping for a Cloverfield sequel. I myself wouldn't mind if Spielberg who executive produced Super 8 would let Abrams take over the Jurassic Park franchise for at least one film.  JJ ABRAMS IMDb.com profile

Battle of Remakes This Weekend

The Thing by John Carpenter and Footloose starring Kevin Bacon are about to get the remake treatment. My guess is both will do decent box office numbers...but won't cross 20 million the first weekend. The question is why remake these films. The answer I have is they have built in fan bases, plus a new generation who isn't aware of the films. I still see a chance for Real Steel which i highly enjoyed taking #1 two straight weeks.

Dolphin Tale surprise win at the box office

On strong word-of-mouth, Dolphin Tale managed to leap over Moneyball and The Lion King (in 3D) to take first place on its second weekend in theaters. Estimates had faith-based movie Courageous trailing 50/50, though it ultimately leveraged a stronger Sunday to come out ahead when actuals reported. Dream House disappointed in its debut, while What's Your Number? tallied one of the worst numbers for a super-saturated (3,000+ theaters) release ever.

  1. Dolphin Tale
  2. Moneyball
  3. Lion King 3d
  4. Courageous
  5. 50/50
